Frequently Asked Questions

An operable wall is a movable partition that divides a large space into smaller rooms and stacks away when it isn't needed. Rigid acoustic panels glide along an overhead track, so one room can work as two or more and reopen in minutes, without permanent construction.

Operable walls use individual rigid panels that hang from an overhead track and stack flat when open, giving higher acoustic ratings (Rw 35 to 55+). Accordion doors are a continuous concertina panel that folds back; they are lighter and lower-cost but seal and insulate less. We supply and install both.

Every operable wall is custom-quoted because price depends on the opening size, panel count, acoustic rating, finish, and whether the system is manual or automated. Send us your drawings or rough dimensions and we'll provide a written quote with the cost broken down.

It depends on use case. As a guide: Rw 35 suits open-office partitioning, Rw 40 suits typical meeting rooms and classrooms, Rw 45–50 is recommended for premium privacy, examination rooms, and high-end venues. We can advise on the right rating once we understand the room layout and usage.

Typical lead times are 6–10 weeks from approved drawings to installation. Faster turnarounds may be possible for smaller systems or repeat configurations. Get in touch to confirm against your project timeline.

Every system is custom-specified to your space. We don't carry off-the-shelf panel sizes; each project is engineered to its specific opening, ceiling height, and load conditions.
